AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES WEEK

25th - 30th Oct, 2021

The Australian Children’s Activities Week will be celebrated from the 25th to the 30th October, 2021

The Australian Children’s Activities Week (ACAW) was initiated in 2020.  Despite it being a challenging year for the children’s activity industry we used this opportunity for Australian families to recognise the value and importance of children’s organised activities. This involved participation from small business owners from all over Australia teaching and benefiting our kids through sport, arts/crafts, STEM, music, dance, swimming and live entertainment.

The ACAW is an opportunity for the children’s activity industry supported by the Australian Children’s Activities Association and What’s On 4 Kids to CELEBRATE and bring about AWARENESS of what the industry does and the service it provides to the Australian community.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR FAMILIES?

Make sure you follow your child/rens activity providers’ social media accounts so you don’t miss out on how they will be celebrating Children’s Activities Week this year.

Make sure you show your child’s activity providers just how much you appreciate them by taking part in whatever they do decide to organise for Children’s Activities Week. Whether it’s participating in dressing up, entering giveaways or competitions or even deciding to give a new activity a try.

You can also choose to post images to social media, tag your activity provider and use the hashtag #childrensactivitiesweekAU

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR ACTIVITY PROVIDERS…

We want the celebrations to be as unique and as diverse as you all are.
Be creative! The aim is to educate and celebrate the industry.
Some ideas can include:
  • Hosting an open day for families to showcase what services you offer
  • Running a giveaway
  • Doing a live performance/activity on Facebook live
  • Host a fancy dress day for your class e.g princess and superheroes
  • Running a colouring competition
  • Running a tutorial or ‘how-to’ class
  • Surprising your team with cupcakes
  • Reading a story
  • Having a face painter come to your class
  • Hosting a party to celebrate with your team
  • Thanking families for their support this year
How to do this:
  • Promote what you will do to celebrate the occasion on social media, via email and through your classes
  • Use the logo “I’m part of…” (below)
  • Share ‘your story’, ‘your why’ with local media
